    I'm new in the photography world. I love your photos. Could you tell me briefly how you take this one? What WB are you using? what sensibility? I think you haven't used the flash, have you? The red colour is perfect.

  • The light in the room was red, and there wasn't very much of it. I had the camera set to auto white balance, and the ISO was 1600. The exposure was set manually. I'm just guessing, but I think I had it wide open (about f1.4 or f1.6) and the speed was about 1/40. I was using a Canon 50mm prime lens (because it's the "fastest" lens I have). "Fast" means it has the lowest f-stop (all the way to f1.4). You have to think backwards, but the lower the f-stop, the wider the opening (so the more light that gets in). If you want to shoot in low light without a flash, then you need a fast lens. Hope this helps. :)
