This is something I'm working on. It's a gallery of photography that "reveals life in people and cultures around the world." One (really excellent) photographer is featured each week with 9 to 12 selected photos.

The gallery just launched with a set of photos of Japanese people (with an interesting twist). The first photographer is Masaru Goto, an award winning Japanese photographer normally based in Thailand. He has done amazing work photographing people dying of AIDS and survivors of violence in Thailand. In these photos he opens up a side of Japan that few people ever see.

I really think you'll like this gallery. If you appreciate insightful photos of people and culture, then this gallery will keep you coming back week after week.

  • Thanks, I appreciate it. At some point, I hope to post a set of photos over at the other site. Right now I'm treating it as a challenge to create a photo story that reaches a new level for me.

  • Hi Andy -- Global Compassion looks great! I really like the current series, and especially that it seems to be dealing with a serious issue in a positive manner, ie showing the real lives of real people, and not just focusing on the problem.
