It is a wedge, as it shows the idolatry of my heart. I am comforted, therefore, by Paul's words in Phillipians 4:12- "I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want." His secret, of course, is a full devotion to Christ, and a proper worship of the true God. After that, everything can be seen in perspective.
