My pathetic list of quotable movie lines

My friend, who turned 40 this week, once memorized The Breakfast Club (long, long ago). When I met him, he could quote Caddyshack from start to finish. I loved it. I could bask in that talent. Personally, I must be phonographically challenged.  I can’t remember jokes at all, and I mangle movie quotes longer than five words or so. I love a good line when I hear it, I just can’t recall them, and it’s pretty pathetic when I try.

Following is my top ten list of movie lines that I more or less remember (just don’t get technical on me) . See if you can match each quote (if you can call a single word a quote) to the movie. I know some of you can name the characters and actors, and probably perform the surrounding dialogue. That’s all way, way beyond me.

Here goes… (drumroll) …

#10 – “Yo, Adrian!”

#9 – “Be the ball.”

#8 – “It’s The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.”

#7 – “This one goes to eleven.”

#6 – “I’m your father.”

#5 – “Have you ever seen a grown man naked.”

#4 – “They’ll be looking for us, but they won’t be looking for NOT us.”

#3 – “Gosh!” / “Lucky!”

#2 – “I want, I want, gimme, gimme, gimme, I need, I need!”

#1 – “It’s a disaster, Fay!”

I guess you can see the trend in the kind of movies that I “remember.” And my apologies to everyone I’ve ever met who happened to be named Adrian.

    10- Rocky
    9- Caddyshack
    8- Ghostbusters
    7- Spinal Tap
    6- Empire Strikes Back
    5- Airplane!
    4- Some Mel Brooks movie…?
    3- Napoleon Dynamite
    2- huh?
1- Wha…? (I kinda thought Airplane! again, though.)

All without the benefit of Google. Thanks you!

You’re the only one to respond, so I won’t bother with hints.

    #4: Zoolander (Ben Stiller)

#2 and #1: What About Bob (Bill Murray, Richard Dreyfuss)

“What About Bob” is one of our all time favorite movies around here.

Aha! I love Zoolander. I’m not familiar with “What About Bob”. I saw it, but it has the old “I Love Lucy” syndrome, where the characters have no empathy for one person, and that’s where all the comedy comes from. But that’s just me – the rest are golden, IMHO.
